This week in math we reviewed dividing decimals by a whole number along with a recap of decimals. Fractions were introduced with a few fun activities using geo boards to create shapes and make fractions out of along with representing fractions looking at a floor plan of a house. Students should be able to define what a fraction is and give an example of how to write one. Next week we will be moving into mixed numbers. This week in science we have focused on getting our science fair projects finished. Students tested their experiments and wrote their conclusions based on the data or research they came up with. Projects turned out wonderful and students should be really proud of all the hard work that went into them! In Humanities this week we have focused on working through our novel study, Island of the Blue Dolphins. On Monday, students have a quiz on chapters 1-8. We have also started watching the news daily through CNN10. Stay tuned for more work on Provincial Government and the rest of our novel!
